25 years of quality, growth and passion - our journey

In June 2025, we will mark an important milestone – 25 years as an importer and distributor in Norway. From our beginnings as “Brakes Norge” to today’s BNC Nordic Distribution AS, we have grown from a modest provider in Oslo to a Nordic distributor with strong brands and fully automated facilities.

The road here has been anything but straightforward. We’ve faced challenges we could never have foreseen – but also discovered opportunities we never dreamed of. With curiosity, commitment, and a strong set of values, we have continually found new ways to grow and improve.

This anniversary is not only about celebrating the past – it’s also about looking ahead. We are now at a new crossroads, where experience meets belief in the future. Sustainability and quality will remain at the core of everything we do, and we look forward to writing the next chapter – together with you.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has been part of the journey so far. Our story is far from over – it has simply become 25 years richer.

Our history

2000

Start-up

Jon Lindblad establishes EBC Brakes Norge AS, operating under the trade name Brakes Norge, which is also the name used for marketing purposes. The company's purpose is the import and distribution of the EBC Brakes brand, offering a complete range of brakes for cars. The address is Strømsveien 185, at Alnabru in Oslo.

2000

Rudskogen

First participation at Gatebil Rudskogen in July this year.

2001

First industry trade fair

Participating at Automessen, Lysaker.

2002

The motorcycle segment

Brakes Norge is also taking over the import and distribution of EBC Brakes to Motorbike.

2003

Economic growth

Revenue approaches NOK 3 million

2005

Digital initiative

brems.no is registered, and an online store is established, with the slogan “Biggest and best in brakes”!

2007

Product range expands

Product range expands – Brakes Norge takes over the H&R agency for Norway. H&R becomes the first major product expansion, moving from an almost brake-only offering to Brakes & Suspension, with a new slogan: “Biggest and best in brakes & suspension”! Revenue approaches NOK 5 million.

2009

Moving to Lillestrøm

Moving from Oslo to Lillestrøm, into “The House on Torggata”. A charming but impractical space in an old building in the center of Lillestrøm. Here we had storage from basement to attic—literally—across three floors, in stairwells and hallways.

2011

Continued growth

Revenue reaches 7.5 million NOK..

2013

Streamlining

Another move, this time to Lørenskog, into a more practical space suited to our operations and size. Here we had 300 square meters on one level, with a drive-in gate and direct access. A real luxury for us after years of carrying brakes up and down stairs.

2015

New agency and anniversary

In 2015, Brakes Norge entered into a distribution agreement with Foliatec for the Norwegian market and at the same time celebrated its 15th anniversary with the launch of a dedicated anniversary logo.

2018

Shift in focus

We move once again, this time to Lahaugmoen in Skjetten, and separate sales and warehouse operations, implementing a 3PL solution for storage and logistics. This allows us to dedicate more time and resources to Sales & Development.

2019

Change of ownership

Sale of the company! Managing Director and majority owner Jon Lindblad decides to sell the company. To achieve the goals and ambitions set, the company needs an infusion of capital and resources. Hedin Automotive acquires 91% of the shares, while Jon Lindblad remains as Managing Director and retains 9% ownership.

2021

Through Hedin Automotive, Brakes Norway gained a solid and forward-looking owner. The company is now mobilising for further growth.

Full takeover and merger plans

Hedin Automotive acquires the remaining 9% of the company’s shares and is now the sole owner of Brakes Norge. A merger is planned with a sister company in the group, car care wholesaler Conlogo AS!
